Below, you will find some of the questions that you may use to reflect on the experiment that we did today in class. You may post your answers here. Or, you may write them in your science journal.
Please make sure you double check your spelling and punctuation before you post your comment.
1. What earth material soaked up the most water?
2. How do you know? What is your evidence?
3. Why is the soil cup heavier?
4. Why do you think it soaked up more water
5. Is there space in either of the two earth materials?
6. What fills the space when materials are dry?
Why would you want to know which material allows water to flow through more easily? (short answer)

Hi, Mrs. Thorez
I think the picture on the page is the bottom of Eiffel Tower looking from the bottom.
If it is so, please tell me in the class or so. M.Y
1.The soil soaked up the most water.
2.I know this because I weighed the two cups and the one with the soil was much heavier. When we looked at how much water came out, we found the cup with the soil did not have much water in it.
3. The soil soil cup is heavier because the soil absorbed the water.
4.The gravel has larger spaces between it, so the water slips through. The dirt has smaller spaces and and is more able to absorb. The dirt also contains plant material
5.and 6.Air fills the spaces when it is dry.

The soil soaked up the most water.
Because the soil was much heavier because there was some more water in the soil. The soil is heavier because there was lots of water in the soil.
Because there is small spaces in the soil. The air fills the space when materials are dry.Answer for 5 and 6.

1. The soil soaked up the most water.
2. I know because we weighed both of the cups and the one with soil weighed the most.
3. because it absorbed more water.
4.I t has smaller spaces to trap more water and also has more plant material in the soil.
5. of course, but the soil just has smaller space and gravel has more space.
6. Air fills the space when it is dry.

1.The soil soak up most water.
2.Because I weighed the two cups and the one with the soil was much heavier.
When we looked at how much water came out, we found the cup with the soil did nit have much water in it.
3.The soil cup is heavier because the soil absorbed the water.
4.The gravel has larger spaces between it. so the water slips through. The dirt has smaller spaces and is more able to absorb. The dirt also contains plant material.
5.Air fills the spaces when it is dry.
6.Air fills the spaces when it is dry.
7.So we can use it.

1. The soil.
2. No water leaked out of the soil cup, but, almost all the water leaked out of the pebble cup.
3. The water soaked into it soil so the soil gained weight.
4. It was soft and had little air.
5. Yes.In both.
6. Air fills the space.
7. For maybe building.
FG
1. the soil soaked up the most water.
2. the soil was heavier than the gravel.
3.the soil cup is heavier because it absorbed the water.
4.the gravel did not absorbed because there were holes.
5.and 6. air fills the spaces when it's dry.

The soil soaked up the most water.Because we did an experiment. The soil cup is heavier.Because it soaks up water. It has less holes than the gravel. Yes there is space in both of them.Air fills the spaces. To see what would be better for planting.

The soil soaked up the most water. When we weighed the two cups, the gravel was heavier. The soil cup is heavier because it absorbed the most water. I think it soaked up more water because it had smaller holes than the gravel. Their is holes it each of the earth materials but the gravel has more holes because it is a solid material. Air fills in the little pockets when the materials are dry.
P.S
1. The soil soaked up the most water.
2. I know because the soil was heavier than the gravel.
3. Because the soil soaked up the most water.
4. I think the soil soaked up the most water because the soil has small spaces and the gravel has large spaces.
5. Yes, there is space in the two materials.
6. Air fills the space when the materials are dry.
7. Probobly for emergencies and planting.

1.The soil cup soaked up the most water.
2.Because when we weighed the cups after water was put into them the soil was hevier.
3.The soil cup was hevier because there were little spaces between the soil and the gravel has lots of spaces.
4.because there are small spaces between the soil.
5.yes there are spaces between the soil and the gravel.
6.air fills the space.
Bronie
1. The soil soaked up the most water.
2. I know because more water came out of the pebbles.
3. Because it has water in it.
M.S
1.Soil soaked up the most water.
2.I know soil is heavier because the gravel have holes in it and air can go in easily, but in the soil their no holes so the water can't go through.
3.The soil cup is heavier.
4.Yes because the gravel is different shape so it have holes and hard.
5 and 6.The air fill the materials when is dry.
W.C
1. The soil.
2.The soil cup is heavier.
3. The water makes it heavier.
4. There is less space between soil.
5. of course, but gravel just has more space and soil has less.
6. Air.
L.H.
1. The soil soaked up the most water.
2. I knew it because the soil was heavier when we weighed it and the water did not slip through the soil.
3. The soil cup was heavier because it absorbed the water.
4.I think the soil absorbed more than the gravel because the soil has less spaces. The soil has very small spaces that we can hardy see.
5. Yes. There is spaces in both earth materials.
M.Y
1.The soil cup soaked up the most water.
2.I know this because the soil was damp and wet. Also, the gravel had bigger spaces in between.
3.Because the weight of the water merged with the weight of the soil.
Hence,making the soil cup heavier.
4.I think the soil cup soaked the most water because the gravel had more spaces in between.
5.Yes there is.But you can't see the spaces in the soil. Were as the gravel you could see the spaces.
6.Air fills the space when the materials are dry.
J.U.
1. The soil soak up the most water.
2. Because when I weighed the two cup the soil was heavier than the gravel so I thought the soil soak the most.
3. Because soil soak up the most water.
4. Because the soil has smaller hole and the gravel had bigger hole.
5. Yes, the gravel had bigger holes so it made it easier for the water to slip through. And the soil had smaller holes that were filled with air when it dry.
S.M.G(J.E)
1.The soil soaked up most water because it has more space between.
2.My proof is the next day we saw that water was soaked up.
3. Because the water made the soil heavier.
